Our Trustees
Founder, Stephen Cruse.
Stephen had a major road traffic accident in February 2008 where he lost both legs below the knee. Following the support from another amputee Stephen found the need for a support network in the UK, first he got involved with a local support group in Liverpool before teaming up with friends to create a non-profit business called Amputation, Inspiration and Motivation CIC, and then founded Amputation Foundation as a registered charity in England and Wales.
Co-Founder, Jackie Palmer.
Jackie got into volunteering in 2012 alongside Stephen in a local support group in Liverpool and went on to become a director of Amputation, Inspiration and Motivation CIC. Jackie is now the Amputee Liaison Officer at Amputation Foundation where she plans and organises events throughout the UK for amputees, helping them rebuild their confidence and self-belief and also plays a vital part in the administration.
Co-Founder, William (Andy) Andrew Reid MBE.
Andy was injured in Afghanistan in October 2009 when he stepped on an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) where he lost his right leg below the knee, his left leg above the knee and his right arm above elbow. Andy massively supports the armed forces charities but also wanted to give something back to civilians who have lost limbs and became a director of Amputation, Inspiration and Motivation CIC and is now an ambassador for Amputation Foundation. Andy radiates inspiration through his continuous challenges that are above and beyond what most able bodied people would even consider, such as cycling for hundreds of miles, kayaking, skydiving, abseiling and much more.
Chairperson, David Tyrrell.
David has worked in social housing management for 30+ years and now works with Knowsley Local Authority helping disabled people with assisted technology. David has played a vital role in his local church and enjoys keeping fit, playing golf and spending time with his grandchildren.

Alec has always worked in finance including cost management services and now involved with mortgages and financial advice. Alec is a keen motorcyclist and has a passion for Everton Football club.
Lay Member 2, Laura Lambert.
